SPI -Overview of Autism & Evidence-Based Practices For California Regional Center Providers- Live Stream

This training developed by CAPTAIN – the California Autism Professional Training and Information Network- reviews the unique characteristics of autism which affect an increasing number of people who will benefit from quality intervention throughout the lifespan to support communication, learning, socialization, and independent living. Regional Centers of California support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities using Evidence Based Practices with strong foundations in scientific research which attest to their effectiveness in supporting desired outcomes for the individuals we serve. CAPTAIN provides information and training on Evidence Based Practices useful in educational and service settings to support adaptive skills, independent living, functional communication and behavioral self-regulation to promote participation in community. Subsequent trainings in our series include Use of Visual Supports and Use of Prompting, two fundamental evidence based strategies for supporting independence.
